Anxiety Treatment

Does It Seem Impossible To Slow Down And De-Stress?

Do you feel helpless or unable to control your anxiety symptoms?

Are you overwhelmed with work, school, or relationships?

Do you spend too much time overthinking everything and second-guessing yourself, as if your mind is always running in circles?

Maybe you have too much going on to slow down and de-stress. Yet as burnt-out as you are, perhaps you’re so used to being busy that you just keep taking on new responsibilities. Maybe you are unhappy at your workplace and you don’t feel valued there, but you don’t know how to step away and you have trouble saying no. You may struggle with relationships—it feels like every relationship you have is toxic and stresses you out, but it seems there’s no alternative. Deep down, you may ask:

Will my life ever be different? Will I always live with so much stress?

Your Anxiety May Cause You To Isolate And Experience Lack Of Confidence

Oftentimes, anxiety goes hand in hand with low self-esteem. Your stress may be driven by the fear that you aren’t good enough. And if you lack self-confidence, you may suffer from social anxiety and have difficulty dating or connecting with friends. As much as you want to break out of your shell and take advantage of new opportunities, you may find yourself isolating and keeping to yourself.

If you want to feel confident in who you are and keep anxiety from controlling your life, I encourage you to connect with me. Anxiety treatment is a chance to learn how to overcome stress and get to know yourself on a deeper level.

Our Entire World Is Living Through A Time Of Fear And Uncertainty

At some point, everyone deals with the fear of not knowing their next steps in life. It’s especially common for people in the midst of major life transitions like graduating college, starting a new job, losing a loved one, and navigating new and old relationships.

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, our entire world is going through a time of upheaval. Millions of people are trying to navigate a global pandemic and take care of their own personal issues at the same time. Naturally, this gets exhausting. The pandemic has exposed a never-ending slew of problems in our society, from toxic workplaces to economic inequalities to lack of adequate healthcare. Many people are struggling to settle down, find a partner, and choose a career path when the world is in such chaos. It’s difficult to find stability in unstable times.

Relationships And Environments That Make You Anxious Are Often Hard To Leave Behind

Maybe you find yourself reassessing your values and priorities but feel that you’ve been stuck for too long to make changes. Perhaps you’re in a relationship that’s been going on for years and this makes it tricky to set new boundaries or communicate that you are unhappy. When you’re used to being in the same situation for a long time, it’s hard to leave that situation behind even if it’s making you anxious. After all, the human brain is designed to want what’s familiar.

Therapy can help you achieve a fresh start. With my help and support, I am confident that you can learn to set healthier boundaries, communicate your needs, and manage anxiety in daily life.

Anxiety Treatment Can Help You Gain New Insights Into Who You Are

Living with anxiety can be lonely. You may feel like you have no one to turn to and be honest with when you’re stressed. Anxiety therapy is the one place where you can talk unfiltered about whatever is on your mind without any fear of judgment. I am here to listen to your concerns, help you identify your fears, and support you as you clarify what you want from life.

As we work together, I will help you understand where your anxiety comes from and the different ways it shows up in your life. We will explore your unconscious mind and examine the negative beliefs and thought patterns that contribute to your anxiety. This will help you understand your emotions and give you better insight into how you think, feel, and interact with the outside world.

What To Expect In Sessions

My approach to the healing process is generally twofold. If your main concern is day-to-day anxiety, we will focus on different behavioral solutions for helping you respond to your stressors. We may practice different grounding techniques to help you stay centered and connected when you feel anxious. Additionally, I will help you better understand the narratives that drive you, create a more compassionate inner dialogue, and increase your confidence in daily life. This can help you improve your assertiveness in social situations and enhance your awareness of your own needs.

If you are more concerned with long-term patterns and dynamics in your life, we will discuss how these issues evolved and impact you today. Oftentimes, this means learning about how early life experiences and relationships have shaped the way you see the world and respond to stress. The goal is to understand the unconscious reasons behind your behavior.

For example, maybe you grew up in a busy household where there was lots of drama. As a result, you may be unconsciously drawn to work environments that are hectic and draining and relationships that are full of conflict. In examining the past, you can bring to light patterns that you may not have recognized before.

No matter how anxious you feel at the moment, you are not alone. My goal is to help you feel more confident in who you are and experience a newfound sense of peace in your life.

You May Have Some Questions About Anxiety Counseling…

  • If you tried therapy before and it wasn’t helpful, I want to know: what didn’t work for you? What would you like to do differently? Anxiety treatment happens on your own terms. I believe you know yourself best, and that’s why I’m here to guide you and support you as you navigate your challenges. From time to time, we can check in to make sure that you’re getting your needs met.

  • Therapy is a dialogue between you and I. I remain engaged with my clients throughout sessions while allowing time for exploration. I offer a safe space where you are heard and seen without any judgment. I want us to get curious together, exploring your life on a deeper level and working together on solutions.

  • All of my sessions are held online, ensuring that you don’t have to worry about commutes and waiting rooms. Anxiety treatment is a commitment, but it is just an hour each week. Moreover, making time for self-care is essential to your well-being. Just as you would seek a doctor for a physical ailment, it’s perfectly natural to see a counselor for anxiety.
